Russia's Federation Council ratifies free trade agreement between EAEU and Indonesia

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Russia's Federation Council at its meeting on Wednesday ratified the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states, on the one hand, and the Republic of Indonesia, on the other.

The agreement was signed on December 21, 2025, in St. Petersburg, and it establishes preferential trade regimes for approximately 90% of foreign traded goods.

The agreement establishes conditions for the further development and bolstering of trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and Indonesia in areas of mutual interest, including manufacturing, agriculture, energy, information and telecommunications technology, research and development, digital development, technical regulation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and customs regulation.

Article 2.2 of the agreement envisages granting most-favored-nation treatment to goods of the parties with certain exceptions.
