Kremlin aide confirms upcoming visit of Witkoff, Kushner to Russia

MOSCOW/BEIJING. May 20 (Interfax) - Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner will visit Russia in the coming weeks.

The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper website reported the news citing Ushakov.

The precise dates of the visit remain unknown, Ushakov told Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent Andrei Zobov.

Witkoff and Kushner are expected to arrive in Russia in the coming weeks, Ushakov told Channel One.

"We are expecting a visit by Witkoff and Kushner in the coming weeks," Ushakov said.

Contacts with the United States at various levels are being held all the time, he said.

"Contacts are underway all the time. Many practical issues are being dealt with. And these contacts between the administrations of the two countries will continue," Ushakov aid.

The media said earlier that Witkoff might visit Russia. Russian special presidential representative for investments Kirill Dmitriev said that Witkoff planned to visit Russia shortly.
