Russia, China outline plans to expand joint energy projects - Novak

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - The Russian and Chinese governments outlined plans to expand joint energy projects in the field of gas exports and oil during talks in Beijing, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Izvestiya.

"Mutual trade is growing, and our partnership is developing in all areas, particularly in energy. Large joint projects continue to be implemented and plans to expand these projects have been outlined, while corresponding work is carried out between our companies. This partly concerns gas exports and gas export routes. It concerns cooperation in the oil industry, electricity and the coal industry. This is a very broad spectrum," Novak said.

Russia is the leading exporter of fuel to China, to which it supplied 101 million tonnes of oil and 49 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025, both via gas pipelines and in the form of liquefied natural gas.
