Putin: Russia, China support each other in issues affecting their core interests, including sovereignty protection

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - The nature of Russian-Chinese relations, which have reached an unprecedented level, is seen in the two countries' readiness to support each other in issues affecting their core interests such as protection of sovereignty and state unity, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his video address published ahead of his official visit to China starting on Tuesday.

"Today, Russia-China relations have reached a truly unprecedented level. Their special nature is reflected in the atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust, a commitment to pursuing win-win and equitable cooperation, conducting respectful dialogue, and supporting each other on matters affecting the core interests of both countries, including protection of sovereignty and state unity," Putin said.
