Alardinskaya mine of Raspadskaya Group resumes operations - authorities

KEMEROVO. May 18 (Interfax) - The Alardinskaya mine (Kemerovo region, Raspadskaya Group ), where coal mining was suspended on May 7 after an excess of CO levels and miners were evacuated, has resumed operations, the region's Coal Industry Ministry told Interfax.

"Alardinskaya has been put into operation," the ministry said.

As reported, on May 12, the Kaltan District Court of the Kemerovo region suspended operations at Alardinskaya for 90 days.

On May 7, coal mining and all other work at the enterprise were suspended, except for work to maintain the mine's vital systems, but the suspension period was disclosed later.

On May 7, a fire occurred in cable products at the enterprise. At the time, there were 110 people in the mine. All of them returned to the surface.

The prosecutor's office organized an inspection into the incident at Alardinskaya. The Russian Investigative Committee's Investigative Department for the Kuzbass also organized a pre-investigation check under Article 217 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities).

The Alardinskaya mine produces coking coal. It was previously reported that the enterprise's capacity is 3 million tonnes of coal per year and the mine's total industrial reserves are 386 million tonnes of coal.

PJSC Raspadskaya consolidates enterprises of a single complex for the extraction of coking coal, including the country's largest mine, Raspadskaya, the Raspadsky open pit mine, the Raspadskaya-Koksovaya mine, Mezhegeyugol, and the Alardinskaya, Osinnikovskaya, Uskovskaya, Yerunakovskaya-8, and Yesaulskaya mines.
