U.S. is the only intermediary between Moscow, Kiev, whereas Europe can't be such - Peskov

MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - The United States is the only intermediary in the Ukrainian conflict settlement, whereas Europe does not want and cannot be such, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Essentially, for now, the United States is the only intermediary. These are working processes, a working format. Obviously, the Europeans do not want and cannot be an intermediary," Peskov told the media on Thursday.

Interfax asked Peskov to comment on a statement by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said that only the United States could be an intermediary in settling the Ukrainian conflict.
