Russia cuts steel roll output 8.1% in April - Chermet Corp
MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Russia reduced steel roll output 8.1% year-on-year to 4.6 million tonnes in April 2026, Chermet Corporation said, quoting preliminary data.
Output fell 6.9% to 18.5 million tonnes in January-April 2026.
Crude steel output fell 7.6% to 5.2 million tonnes in April and 9.9% to 20.8 million tonnes in 4M 2026.
Iron ore production fell 6.1% year-on-year to 8.6 million tonnes in April and fell 9.9% to 20.8 million tonnes in 4M.
Pig iron production fell 8.7% to 3.9 million tonnes in April and fell 7% to 16 million tonnes in 4M.
Steel pipe production fell 7% to 900,000 tonnes in April and fell 24% to 2.9 million tonnes in 4M.
Chermet Corporation, established in 1991, says on its website that it works with all companies that have assets of importance in the Russian ferrous metallurgy industry.
