Kazakhstan boosts GDP 3.6% in January-April

ASTANA. May 12 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan boosted GDP 3.6% in January-April 2026, the country's Economic Ministry said.

Construction grew 14.5%, transportation and warehousing 12%, manufacturing 9.9%, trade 5.1%, and agriculture 3.6%.

Production in mechanical engineering increased 23.3%, and light industry grew 2.3-fold.

Production of furniture jumped 41.7%, pharmaceuticals 35.2%, construction materials 27.7%, chemicals 18.4%, and food 14.4%.

Kazakhstan boosted GDP 6.5% in 2025 and 3% in January-March 2026. Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has ordered sustainable economic growth of over 5% in 2026.
