Ukrainian govt plans to boost 2026 budget revenues by over UAH 2.2 trln
MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has submitted a proposal to the country's parliament to increase the state budget revenues for 2026 by more than UAH 2.2 trillion, Ukrainian media reported citing Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
"It has become possible thanks to the European Union's approval of a 90-billion-euro loan for 2026-2027. We expect to receive 45 billion euros in support this year, 31.8 billion euros of which will be spent on defense and security, and 13.2 billion euros on covering the budget deficit. The first tranche will become available as soon as June," media outlets quoted Sviridenko as saying on social media.
In total, the budget's revenues are expected to grow by more than UAH 2.2 trillion, primarily due to international support for Ukraine and additional transfers under the Ukraine Plan, she said.
An additional UAH 1.56 trillion is earmarked for security and defense, including UAH 174.3 billion for military personnel remuneration, UAH 1.37 trillion for the development of weapons and military hardware, and UAH 14.6 billion as a reserve for the security and defense sector, Sviridenko said.
"Additional resources will separately be allocated for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry, military hardware modernization and for increasing the output of our own weapons," she said.
Another UAH 40 billion will help finance the implementation of the Comprehensive Resilience Plans for Ukrainian regions and communities.
An extra UAH 40 billion will be directed to the reserve fund for rapid response to challenges.
