Kazakhstan plans to start exporting meat to South Korea, Japan, Turkey in 2026 - Deputy Agriculture Minister
ASTANA. May 12 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan plans to expand meat exports to South Korea, Japan and Turkey in 2026, Kazakh Deputy Agriculture Minister Amangaliy Berdalin said.
"We are opening up new markets every year. This year, we are aiming to enter the South Korean, Japanese and Turkish markets," Berdalin said at a press conference following a government meeting on Tuesday.
He said that Kazakhstan was currently exporting lamb to 14 countries and beef to eight. He said that transport logistics remained a key factor keeping the prices of Kazakh meat competitive, since logistics plays a key role in pricing.
"We export the most meat to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries," Berdalin said.
He added that total meat exports had increased 43% to 84,000 tonnes in 2025.
