Russian cosmonauts to go out for spacewalk on May 27 - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - This year's first spacewalk under the Russian program from the International Space Station (ISS) will take place on May 27, Roscosmos said.

"The Russian scientific instrument Solntse-Terahertz of the Academy of Sciences' Lebedev Physical Institute successfully underwent tests on board the ISS and is being prepared for its installation on the outer surface of the Zvezda module during the spacewalk on May 27," a statement made in the video, published by Roscosmos on Friday, said.

The previous spacewalk in accordance with the Russian program was performed on October 28, 2025. Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky installed scientific equipment on the ISS's outer surface.

A crew of seven, including Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, Sergei Mikayev and Andrei Fedyayev, NASA astronauts Christopher Williams, Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, and European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, are currently operating the ISS.
