Umerov to discuss security, diplomatic issues with Witkoff, Kushner in United States - media
WASHINGTON. May 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov has gone to the United States to meet with U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, Politico said on Thursday, citing its source.
"He will meet representatives of the U.S. president to discuss diplomatic and security issues," Politico said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier on Thursday that Moscow was hoping that the U.S. mediators would keep working to settle the Ukrainian conflict.
"We are hoping that these goodwill services, the services of those facilitating the negotiations, will be continued by Washington. We highly appreciate these services, and I am hoping that the process will be continued," Peskov said at a press briefing in response to a related question.
