Ukraine plans to expedite privatization of Sense Bank, Ukrgasbank
MOSCOW. May 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian state-owned Sense Bank should be privatized before the end of 2026, Ukrainian media quoted Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko as saying.
The Finance Ministry and the National Bank of Ukraine have been instructed to jointly analyze the performance of the Sense Bank management and to expedite the bank's privatization, Sviridenko said.
"The bank should be privatized as soon as this year. Personnel decisions can be adopted if necessary. Ukrgasbank is another privatization priority. Relevant preparations are continuing," media outlets quoted Sviridenko as saying on social media after a government meeting.
Furthermore, the Supervisory Board of state-owned nuclear power plant operator Energoatom must immediately ensure that the government's previous decisions are implemented and announce a competitive process to form a new board within a week, she said.
"We expect a faster pace and greater accountability in fulfilling these tasks," Sviridenko said.
