Kazakhstan extends ban on gasoline, diesel exports
ALMATY. May 6 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry has extended the ban on gasoline, diesel and certain petroleum product exports until November 21, 2026.
According to the ministry's order, the ban on petroleum product exports by road transport, including to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, will be extended from May 21, 2026, through November 21, 2026.
The ban will not apply to lubricants and fuel in factory-installed vehicle tanks (no more than once per day).
Restrictions are also imposed on petroleum product the exports by rail. However, gasoline exports are still permitted under approved delivery plans under the state regulation of the production and circulation of certain petroleum products, as well as for humanitarian purposes by government decision.
The ban on gasoline, diesel and certain petroleum products by road and rail has been in effect since November 20, 2025, for six months, through May 20, 2026. The measure applies to supplies to EAEU countries as well and is intended to prevent fuel shortages on the domestic market.
