Attacks on Zaporozhye NPP unacceptable, IAEA opens probe - Grossi

BRUSSELS. April 27 (Interfax) - Attacks on nuclear power plants are unacceptable, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will investigate a Ukrainian drone strike on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) that occurred earlier on Monday, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said.

"Director General Rafael Grossi reiterates that strikes on or near NPPs can endanger nuclear safety and must not take place. The IAEA's team on the site will look into the incident and continue to monitor the situation," the IAEA said in a statement on X.

It was reported earlier on Monday that a ZNPP employee had died in a Ukrainian drone attack on the NPP's facility.

"A driver was killed in a Ukrainian drone strike on the transport workshop of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant today," the plant's channel on Max said.
