Oil supply resumption to Hungary by Druzhba fully depends on Kiev, Russia technologically ready - Kremlin

MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - Russia is technologically prepared to resume oil transit to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline, but everything depends on Kiev, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"You know that the Russian side stays ready technologically. We have contractual obligations to Hungary. But the supply stopped when the Kiev regime's extortion began. Everything depends on the Kiev regime, on whether they open the pipeline and stop their extortion," Peskov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

He was asked whether Moscow had any information about the resumption of oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline and whether it was ready to resume transit.

Peskov also commented on media reports alleging that Russia would suspend the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline starting May 1 and suggested asking the relevant companies, adding that Moscow will look into the situation.

"I don't know that. You should ask our relevant companies. We will try to look into the situation, but I'm not ready to answer," Peskov said. Journalists asked him whether reports alleging Russia would suspend the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline starting May 1 were true.
