Rosatom plans first concrete at Primorye NPP at end of 2027
MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - The start of main construction work for the Primorye NPP in the Far East is scheduled for the end of 2027, the first deputy head of Rosenergoatom Alexander Khvalko said at a meeting on the development of electricity in the Far Eastern Federal District held at the Federation Council.
"The start of the main period of work [will be] in December 2027, we are planning the first concrete [then]," he said.
Design and survey work at the site began in the autumn, Khvalko said. Engineering surveys have already been completed in full, he said. At the end of March, the company submitted an application to local authorities for the land plot for the work, as well as materials to justify the license. By the end of the year, it needs to conclude a land lease agreement; public hearings were held quite successfully, he said.
"The conclusion of a general contract for construction and installation work [will be] in April-May; design documentation should be developed and priority construction and installation work should be carried out in September this year," Khvalko said about the status of work at the site.
The construction of the Primorye NPP is planned to cover the energy deficit in the Far East. It is assumed that the first unit of the plant will be commissioned in 2033, and the second in 2035.
