Oil, condensate production in Azerbaijan down 3% in Q1, gas production up 0.4% - State Statistics Committee
BAKU. April 15 (Interfax) - Oil and gas condensate production in Azerbaijan amounted to 6.63 million tonnes in Q1 2026, down 3.4% year-on-year, according to materials from the country's State Statistics Committee.
Of this amount, marketable oil and condensate accounted for 6.61 million tonnes, also down 3.4%.
Gas production increased 0.4% to 12.51 billion cubic meters, including production of marketable gas which was down 0.7% to 9.86 bcm.
In March, Azerbaijan produced 2.3 million tonnes of oil (-4.2%) and 3.4 bcm of gas (-2.9%).
The Azerbaijani Energy Ministry, citing operational data, previously said that oil and condensate production in Azerbaijan amounted to 6.6 million tonnes in January-March (-4.3%), while gas production stood at 12.6 bcm (the same level as January-March 2025).
As reported, oil and gas condensate production in Azerbaijan amounted to 27.68 million tonnes in 2025, down 4.7% compared to the previous year. Gas production increased 1% to 50.92 bcm, including marketable gas which rose 0.7% to 38.88 bcm.
Azerbaijani authorities forecast oil production at 27.6 million tonnes and gas production at 48.44 bcm in 2026.
