Kazakhstan's GDP grows 3% in Q1 - PM

ASTANA. April 14 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's GDP grew 3% in the first three months of 2026, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said.

"Today, we are reviewing the results of the country's socio-economic development and the execution of the national budget for the first quarter of this year. During this period, real GDP growth was 3%," Bektenov said at a government meeting on Tuesday.

He said this figure was achieved through sustainable growth in the non-resource sector, particularly in manufacturing, transportation, construction and trade.

"Despite deteriorating external economic conditions, it is the non-resource sector that is demonstrating its resilience and competitiveness," Bektenov said.

Kazakhstan's GDP increased by 6.5% in 2025, which was mainly driven by industrial production, transport, construction and trade.
