Russian UserGate plans to occupy 15% of Belarusian information security market by 2030

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - UserGate LLC, a Russian company producing next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), plans to take over around 15% of the Belarusian information security market by 2030, deputy CEO for sales and marketing Mikhail Penkovsky told Interfax.

"According to our estimates, the Belarusian information security market will grow 10% to 9.5 billion rubles this year," Penkovsky said. "The company's current share of this market is around 5%, and we are hoping to increase this three times by 2030."

Penkovsky said that prior to this, the company planned to invest in developing professional education in the field of information security in Belarus, for example, by providing Belarusian universities with study courses created by the company, equipment and licenses for UserGate products to train students to use them in practice. The company is planning to set up UserGate laboratories in several instances, for example as part of a partnership with the Belarusian State University (BSU).

Penkovsky said that the company intended to invest 11.5 billion rubles in the development of information security training at Belarusian universities in 2026.

"In partnering with the republic's universities, the company is aiming to fill the Belarusian labor market with highly qualified specialists possessing up-to-date expertise in cybersecurity technologies and the specificities of their practical use," director of the UserGate Academy Margarita Zaitseva said. "UserGate sees its activity in developing professional education in Belarus as an investment in the development of a promising market with a social component."

UserGate has been working on the information security market since 2014. An active player on the global market prior to 2022, the company has developed and is now supplying the Russian market with a line of network security solutions, including software and hardware NGFWs, using the contract production model. In 2024, the company earned just over 8 billion rubles in revenue, and it expects revenue growth of 21% in 2025.

UserGate is co-owned by Alexander Levchenko and and Dmitry Kurashev, who each hold a 50% share.
