Ukraine's Border Service updates border-crossing statistics

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - The number of people who crossed into Ukraine over the week from April 4 to 10, 2026 decreased to 274,000 from 314,000 and the number of departures decreased to 222,000 from 238,000 compared with the previous week, Ukrainian media reported citing the State Border Service.

The number of vehicles crossing the border also decreased over said week to 115,000 from 132,000, with the number of vehicles carrying humanitarian aid going down to 422 from 545 the week before.

The National Bank of Ukraine anticipates 2026 to see a net outflow of 0.2 million people, while a net inflow should begin in 2027 with around 0.1 million people, increasing to 0.5 million people in 2028.

According to the United Nations Refugee Agency's report updated on February 19, 2026, the number of Ukrainian refugees around the world was estimated at 5.924 million (up from 5.898 million as of January 16, 2026), including 5.375 million in European countries outside of Ukraine (up from 5.349 million).

Inside Ukraine, according to the UN's information updated in January 2026, there were around 3.7 million internally displaced persons (IDPs), compared with 3.34 million in July 2025 and 3.76 million in April 2025.
