Inflation in Ukraine accelerates to 1.7% in March, reaching 7.9% YoY - statistics service

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Consumer price growth in Ukraine accelerated to 1.7% in March 2026, from 1% in February and 0.7% in January of this year, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

The price growth also reached 1.7% in March 2025, meaning that the annual inflation for March of this year rose to 7.9% from 7.6% in February and 7.4% in January, the statistics service said.

As noted, the core inflation reached 1.5% in March 2026, from 0.7% in February and 0.4% in January. Considering that the core inflation stood at 1.4% in March 2025, it increased slightly in annual terms to 7.1% from 7% in February and January.

As reported, inflation in Ukraine reached 26.6% in 2022, when the crisis broke out, before declining to 5.1% in 2023. It went up again the following year to 12%, but was brought down to 8% in 2025, in part due to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU)'s monetary policy.

At the end of January, the NBU downgraded its inflation forecast for 2026 from 6.6% to 7.5%, and for 2027 from 5% to 6%.
