Akkuyu NPP expected to start generating dividends after 2035 - Rosatom Energy International
MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Turkey's first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu, which Russia's Rosatom is now building, will begin generating dividends from electricity sales after 2035, Rosatom Energy International (REIN), the manager of the project, said in its annual report.
REIN "specializes in managing international projects for the construction and operation of Russian-designed nuclear power plants (NPPs) based on equity ownership in project companies," and "is responsible for arrangement of financing, and ensuring return on investment and profitability of funds invested in projects within agreed budgets and schedules," the company said on its website.
REIN was appointed the competency center for promoting, marketing and contracting Rosatom products in Turkey in 2022.
REIN does not currently earn revenue or profits. The company conducts activities aimed at financing investment projects abroad and in Russia, the report said.
The report also mentions the legal dispute over the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant project in Finland. REIN said it anticipates a positive decision for itself in the case and the actual collection of about 4.095 billion euros from the Finnish side. All investments in the project are expected to be recovered by the end of 2039.
