Digital platforms will enter all spheres where transactions occur - deputy head of Russian presidential administration

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - Digital platforms will gradually penetrate all spheres where transactions occur between different parties, the deputy head of the Russian presidential administration Maxim Oreshkin said.

"Platforms have a great future. They will develop, they will capture ever new areas of relationships. Where there are transactions, where there are two, three, four parties that need to be brought together. This can concern completely different spheres. Both procurement and, for example, such spheres as healthcare and education. Where there are transactions, platforms will go there; this will inevitably happen," Oreshkin said in a video address to participants of the Conference on Innovative Technologies of E-Commerce and Media taking place in Moscow on Wednesday.

This process must on the one hand proceed as quickly as possible, and on the other hand take maximum account of the interests of those who provide services and produce goods, and those who consume them, he said.

"Finding the right balance between different interest groups becomes the most important story; it is great that e-commerce platforms are taking voluntary steps," Oreshkin said, recalling the memorandum on fair practices that a number of digital platforms have joined. "Finding the right balance of all interests is an important task for both the platforms themselves and the state," he said.
