Russia, U.S. have field for post-ISS space cooperation - Roscosmos CEO
MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - Russia is ready for space cooperation with the United States once the use of the International Space Station (ISS) ends, Roscosmos' CEO Dmitry Bakanov said.
"Of course, we maintain a dialogue because our joint use of the ISS will end in 2028 or in 2030, but it will end," Bakanov said in an interview with the Vesti news service.
"And afterwards we are creating our own Russian orbital station, the national one. And India is creating own one under the Gaganyaan program. The Americans will be creating theirs," Bakanov said.
"It is important that, like in the previous years, space can unite, connect and we can conduct joint experiments, can dock, undock, provide seat barter flights for our cosmonauts, astronauts. There is field for cooperation," Bakanov said.
"Political aspects may also influence, but on a technical level we are ready," he said.
