Turkmenistan sees GDP grow 6.3% in Q1 - Deputy PM
ASHGABAT. April 6 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan saw GDP grow 6.3% in January-March 2026, the Neytralny Turkmenistan newspaper reported, citing Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradow, who oversees the financial and banking sector.
Geldimyradow reported at a government meeting late last week that industrial growth was 2.4%, construction 6%, transport and communications 10.3%, trade 8.3%, agriculture 2.4%, and services 8.3%.
Geldimyradow said that the volume of manufactured goods increased 10.4% year-on-year, foreign trade turnover grew 3.7% year-on-year, and retail turnover rose 10.4% year-on-year in January-March 2026.
The state budget revenue plan was fulfilled at 102.3%, and expenditures were fulfilled at 97.2%.
The volume of capital investment from all sources of funding increased 5.3%.
As previously reported, Turkmenistan's GDP is expected to grow 6.3% in 2025.
