Kazakhstan delivers only 1 batch of oil to Hungary in 2025; new deliveries will depend on MOL's requests
ASTANA. April 3 (Interfax) - KazMunayGas (KMG) delivered only one test batch of oil to Hungary in 2025, and further deliveries will depend on the requests of Hungary's MOL, KMG told Interfax.
"In 2025, the first batch of Kazakh oil was delivered in the amount of 85,000 tonnes. Deliveries in 2026 will depend on the requests of MOL, as well as the commercial feasibility for the KMG group," KMG said in response to the agency's inquiry about delivery levels to Hungary for 2025 and plans for the current year.
The company recalled that a framework agreement on oil deliveries had previously been signed between KMG and MOL, under which deliveries will be made at the request of the Hungarian side.
The first batch of oil to Hungary via Croatia was delivered in August 2025. Maritime transportation from the port of Novorossiysk to the Croatian port of Omisalj was provided by the Kazakh carrier Kazmortransflot (a subsidiary of KMG). Further transportation from the port to the final destination - the Szazhalombatta refinery in Hungary - was carried out via the Adriatic pipeline operated by the Croatian company Jadranski naftovod (JANAF).
KazMunayGas is the Kazakh national operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing state interests in the oil and gas industry.
