U.S. lifts sanctions on 3 Russian seagoing cargo vessels
MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has removed three Russian-flagged seagoing vessels from the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List.
Sanctions have been lifted from the FESCO Moneron and FESCO Magadan container ships, as well as the SV Nikolay cargo vessel, the OFAC said in a statement.
The U.S. sanctioned the FESCO Moneron and the FESCO Magadan on February 22, 2022, due to their ties to PSB Leasing, which was already sanctioned at the time. FESCO said at the time that it had begun de-leasing the vessels and terminating its relationship with the lessor, "which should serve as the basis" for their removal from the sanctions list.
