Sales of Russian software total 2.5 trillion rubles in 2025 - Mishustin

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Sales of software and services by Russian developers totaled 2.5 trillion rubles in 2025, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the Digital Qazaqstan 2026 international forum in Shymkent.

"Sales of Russian software and development-related services reached practically 2.5 trillion rubles last year, increasing by 20% year-on-year," Mishustin said. "And the industrial software market grew to around 50 billion rubles."

He said that the Russian IT industry's contribution to the country's GDP over the last six years had doubled to 2.7%, while Russian software sales had more than quadrupled in this period, exceeding 5 trillion rubles.

"All of these solutions could form the basis for the digital transformation of industries in the economies of countries in the Eurasian Economic Union, too," Mishustin said. "Russia is prepared to share the most up-to-date developments with its closest neighbors."

In February, the Russoft software developers association forecast that Russian software developers could boost sales to corporate clients 19% to 2.3 trillion rubles in 2025. In March, the association adjusted this forecast to a slower growth rate of 5%-10%.

Russoft also lowered its forecast for the growth of overseas sales by Russian companies to 5%-10%. It had previously forecast that they would increase 46% from 524 billion rubles the previous year to 800 billion rubles.

Russoft linked the slowing in sales to the overall economic situation - the increase in military production costs, the Central Bank of Russia's policy of increasing the key rate - as well as the situation on the IT market. This refers to changes in clients' approaches to buying software and the lower level of state support available for the IT industry among other factors.
