Russia expects to increase pork supplies to Vietnam, develop grain exports - agriculture minister

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - Russia is a major supplier of pork to Vietnam and expects to increase supplies, while another major trade area is grain, the exports of which to the Vietnamese market need to be developed, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said.

"Pork supplies [to Vietnam] are increasing every year. We are one of the leaders among pork suppliers to Vietnam. We hope to increase our cooperation in this area," Lut said on the Rossiya 24 television channel.

"And, of course, the second area that needs to be developed is the supply of grain," Lut said.

The minister is participating in the talks that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is holding with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday.

According to data from the Agroexport federal center, Russia exported 7,000 tonnes of pork to Vietnam in January-February this year.
