Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing statistics
MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic across the Ukrainian western border grew 5.1% to 436,000 travelers on March 14-20, and the number of departures slightly exceeded the number of arrivals, Ukrainian media said, citing weekly statistical data from the State Border Guard Service.
The number of departures increased to 222,000 from 209,000 the week before, while the number of arrivals grew to 214,000 from 206,000, the media said.
The number of vehicles crossing the border also increased over the week, to 120,000 from 118,000, while the number of humanitarian trucks decreased to 483 from 530 the week before.
The NBU is expecting a net outflow of 0.2 million in 2006, and is expecting a net return of about 0.1 million in 2027, which might increase to 0.5 million in 2028.
An update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees estimated the number of Ukrainian refugees at 5.924 million worldwide on February 19, 2026, (5.898 million as of January 16), including 5.375 million in Europe (5.349 million).
The latest UN update estimated the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine at 3.7 million in January 2026, versus 3.340 million in July and 3.76 million in April.
