FESCO, Chelyabinsk groats producer Uvelka to develop exports to Asia
CHELYABINSK. March 18 (Interfax) - FESCO Transportation Group, which is under the management of the Rosatom state corporation, and Resurs LLC (Chelyabinsk region, a major producer of Uvelka groats, have signed a cooperation agreement on export supplies to Asian countries, the group's press service said.
"The parties intend to use FESCO's logistics capabilities for supplies of products under the Uvelka brand from the Chelyabinsk region for export along major transport routes," the press service said.
In particular, it is planned that cargo shipments will be organized using regular FESCO Chelyabinsk Shuttle eastbound container trains from the Formachevo station (South Ural Railway, a branch of Russian Railways, located in the Uvelsky district of the Chelyabinsk region) to Vladivostok, and then via its own sea services to countries in South and Southeast Asia.
In addition, the possibility of organizing container transportation through land border crossings will be considered.
It was previously reported that FESCO in January 2024 sent the first container train with goods as part of the FESCO Chelyabinsk Shuttle eastbound rail service, focused on exporting goods from Russian enterprises to Asian countries. Earlier, in 2023, the group launched the FESCO Chelyabinsk Shuttle service, which involves transporting imported goods from East and Southeast Asian countries to the South Ural region.
Resurs is a major producer of groats in Russia. It has built a production and logistics complex worth more than 8 billion rubles and plans to construct an elevator for 1.2 billion rubles. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, 50% of Resurs LLC belongs to Valery Filippov and members of his family, and 50% is controlled by Vitaly Zyablin and his relatives. Filippov and Zyablin also own several companies specializing in the production of groats, granules and flour from cereal crops.
