Russian digital platform Smartseeds and state information system JSC GLONASS will develop joint navigation, logistics solutions
MOSCOW. March 18 (Interfax) - Digital logistics platform Smartseeds, part of Demetra Holding, and JSC GLONASS, the operator of the ERA-GLONASS state information system, have signed an agreement to collaborate in the field of information technologies and develop joint navigations and logistics solutions.
The companies said in a joint press release that they pledged in their agreement to work together to develop information technologies and navigation and logistics solutions for the Russian cargo transportation market, creating joint technological solutions and using ERA-GLONASS as a platform to promote services.
The parties agreed that they would work to develop an integrated approach to providing services to users, implement technological initiatives aimed at improving the security and efficiency of transportation processes, including for the agricultural sector, and participate in measures to promote and popularize up-to-date IT solutions in transport and logistics.
They said in the press release that Smartseeds had implemented a monitoring system for transport on the basis of ERA-GLONASS in 2025. This has made shipments more transparent and allowed for more effective monitoring of cargo, as well as helping transportation companies to trace routes and monitor fuel levels.
Smartseeds CEO Anton Kondratov is quoted in the press release as saying that the market was currently dictated not just by demand for certain products, but also by the formation of a holistic digital landscape. "It is precisely the synergy of technological platforms which can give the industry that powerful impetus that it needs to develop here and now," he said.
"The companies' partnership will be aimed at integrating navigation and logistics solutions - the ERA-GLONASS state information system and the Smartseeds digital platform for agriculture. We expect the joint work and the combining of expertise will form the basis of a pilot project for the digitalization and development of innovations in agriculture," sales director of JSC GLONASS Vitaly Derkach is quoted as saying in the press release.
