Russian, U.S. delegations discuss various topics at meeting in Florida - Witkoff
WASHINGTON/MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax) - U.S. and Russian representatives met in Florida on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said.
"Today in Florida, the Russian delegation led by Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev met with the U.S. delegation, including Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum," Witkoff wrote on X.
The delegations discussed various issues and agreed to stay in touch, he said.
Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO and Special Presidential Representative Kirill Dmitriev, for his part, thanked the U.S. delegation for a productive meeting.
"Thank you, Steve, Jared, and Josh, for a productive meeting," he wrote on X.
Dmitriev said on Max on Thursday that "at the president's instruction, I visited the U.S., where I held a meeting with the senior members of the working group on economic cooperation between Russia and the U.S."
"We discussed both promising projects that can help restore Russian-U.S. relations and the current crisis on global energy markets," he said.
"Today, many countries, above all the U.S., are starting to better understand the key, backbone role of Russian oil and gas in ensuring the stability of the global economy, as well as the ineffectiveness and the destructive nature of sanctions against Russia," Dmitriev said.
