Cian mortgage marketplace withdraws from CBR register of digital platform operators

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - A subsidiary of the Cian group has withdrawn from the register of financial platform operators after replacing its technological solution for selecting and receiving a mortgage remotely, the company's press service told Interfax.

At the end of January, the Financial Platform company published a notification on its website that it would no longer be acting as an operator and would terminate all existing service contracts with clients and participant banks. On Friday, the Central Bank of Russia removed JSC Financial Platform from the register of financial platform operators in response to a formal request from the company.

"With the replacement of the technological solution used for selecting and receiving mortgages remotely on our platform, we have taken the decision to withdraw from the financial platform register voluntarily," the Cian press service said.

Cian will continue assisting clients in selecting a mortgage program and developing a portfolio of product solutions to give clients the best experience in terms of financial services and others related to real estate, the company said.

The CBR added JSC Financial Platform to its register of financial platform operators in April 2023. Cian said then that the mortgage marketplace would allow for mortgage deals to be completed and real estate purchased remotely and would enable clients to select a loan program and obtain the necessary documentation.

The CBR register currently contains 13 registered financial platform operators, including Moscow Exchange marketplace Finuslugi, VTB Registrar, Sravni.ru, Banki.ru, Avito Finance and Yandex Financial Platform.
