Segezha plans to enter Russian market of IT solutions for timber industry
MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - A subsidiary of the timber industry holding Segezha Group , Segezha Digital Solutions LLC, plans to supply solutions for managing production processes in the timber industry to the Russian market and is considering exporting its developments in the future, the general director of the digital company Maxim Korolev said.
Segezha Digital Solutions has developed an IoT solution for centralized dispatching of production lines at paper packaging enterprises.
"At present, we are focusing on the local use of the development - after completing fault-tolerance testing, we plan to scale it within the holding. Equipping all of Segezha Group's converting lines could take up to a year, after which we may register the corresponding trademark. In this way, the business's request for import substitution is being converted into a finished market product, including with export potential," Korolev was quoted by the company's press service as saying.
Segezha's solution could potentially replace Siemens industrial controllers on the Russian market, Korolev said. "The timber industry market is in dire need of accessible industrial internet of things tools without sanctions risks," he said. The solution developed by Segezha provides data collection and analysis in parallel with the closed automated process control systems of foreign equipment.
Established in 2023, Segezha Digital Solutions LLC is a 100% subsidiary of Segezha Group and is engaged in the development of IT solutions and management of the holding's IT infrastructure. The company's revenue in 2024 amounted to 1.06 billion rubles (at the level of 2023), while net profit stood at 106 million rubles (twice as much as in 2023).
