Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing statistics
MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic across the Ukrainian border grew 1.2% to 411,000 travelers on the eighth week of the year, February 21-27, Ukrainian media said, citing the State Border Guard Service's statistical data.
The number of departures has exceeded the number of arrivals for the past three years, while the trend was the opposite in the previous five weeks, the media said.
The gap narrowed this week: the number of departures decreased to 212,000 from 214,000 the week before, while the number of arrivals grew to 199,000 from 192,000.
The number of vehicles crossing border checkpoints increased to 116 this week, versus around 110 in the previous seven weeks. The number of humanitarian trucks reduced to 496 from 524 the week before.
According to an update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, there were 5.924 million Ukrainian refugees worldwide as of February 19, 2026 (5.898 million as of January 16), including 5.375 million in Europe (5.349 million).
There were 3.7 million internally displaced persons in Ukraine at the end of 2025, versus 3.340 million in July and 3.76 million in April, the UN said.
