Russian govt specifies target indicators of introduction domestic software in processing industry

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - The Russian government has updated the document, approved in 2023 and determining the transition of Russia's processing industry to modern IT, including an increase of domestic software's share.

The updated strategic digital transformation approach in the processing industry envisages that the companies and organizations, where the state participation exceeds 50%, must increase their level of use of Russian software to 95% by 2030, the press service for the government said on Saturday.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the relevant decree.

Overall, at least 80% of Russian enterprises and companies in the processing industry must switch to using domestic software in systems facilitating the main production and management processes by 2030. It is expected to enable reaching the target of forty-percent production growth in the processing industry compared to 2022.

In addition, Russia is planning to launch the proactive model of providing state support to industry enterprises based on the state industry information system by 2030, the press service said.

The Russian government determined the strategic digital transformation approach in the processing industry in November 2023. It envisages the implementation of the five key ecosystem projects, - Smart Production, Digital Engineering, Production of the Future, Trusted Decisions, and Intellectual State Support.
