Eurasian Economic Commission Council allows Russia duty-free beef imports of up to 100,000 tonnes for processing purposes in 2026
MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council has set tariff quotas for imports of certain types of cattle meat designated for producing meat products in 2026.
According to the published resolution, the quota will be up to 100,000 tonnes for Russia, up to 7,500 tonnes for Armenia, up to 7,500 tonnes for Belarus, up to 5,000 tonnes for Kazakhstan and up to 5,000 tonnes for Kyrgyzstan.
The resolution of the EEC Council, dated January 30, covers all legal relations that have arisen since the beginning of this year and is effective until December 31, 2026.
The EEC has taken similar steps regarding concessional tariffs for cattle meat imports in previous years. The commission then said that the concession applied exclusively to cattle meat intended for industrial processing and the production of ready-to-eat products, with the condition that the intended purpose of the imported goods be confirmed by an authorized body and the resulting produce be subsequently sold on the domestic market.
