Russia remains second largest pea exporter to India in 2025
MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russian pea exports to India plunged 64% to 321,100 tonnes in 2025 from 896,800 tonnes in 2024, but Russia remained the second largest supplier of peas to the Indian market after Canada, data from India's Trade and Industry Ministry showed.
Russia's pea exports to India by value shrank to $117.7 million in 2025 from $424.9 million a year earlier.
Canada's pea exports to India, meanwhile, tumbled to 882,700 tonnes in 2025 from almost 1.5 million tonnes in 2024, and dropped to $324.9 million from $697.3 million by value.
India reduced total pea imports to 1.29 million tonnes in 2025 from 2.9 million tonnes in 2024. The value of these imports dropped to $476.8 million from $1.4 billion.
