Russian govt allocates additional 133 bln rubles to support agricultural sector in 2025 - Mishustin
MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russia's agricultural sector received an additional 133 billion rubles as part of state support in 2025, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said when answering questions from members of the State Duma.
"We provide constant, systemic support to rural areas. We monitor the situation in the sector. If necessary, we allocate additional resources. In particular, in 2025, this meant an extra 133 billion rubles on top of the 532 billion rubles that had been allocated. These are huge funds, which the state can afford," Mishustin said.
A total of 542 billion rubles are provided for in 2026, he said. "But we will proceed from the needs of the sector. We have not been mistaken in the investment we planned; it has produced tremendous results," he said.
Mishustin recalled that agricultural production growth amounted to 5% in 2025, particularly in crop production - 9%. "The grain harvest is the third largest in the country's entire history: 142 million tonnes [including the new regions]. Over the past seven years, the grain harvest has annually exceeded 120 million tonnes. This is a remarkable result," he said.
