United Kingdom imposes sanctions against Russian LNG plants Gazprom LNG Portovaya, Cryogas-Vysotsk

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions against the medium-tonnage LNG plants in the Baltic, Gazprom LNG Portovaya LLC and Cryogas-Vysotsk LLC, according to a statement from the UK Foreign Office.

The sanctions include asset freezes and a ban on asset management services. Vessels chartered by a sanctioned individual are prohibited from entering UK ports and from receiving technical assistance.

Sanctions have also been imposed against the LNG carriers LNG Soars and Kunpeng.

The medium-tonnage LNG production plant near the Portovaya compressor station was launched in 2022. It was built to supply consumers in the northwestern region and also ensures the energy security of the Kaliningrad region in conjunction with the Marshal Vasilevsky LNG receiving terminal. The design capacity is 1.5 million tonnes of LNG per year.

Cryogas-Vysotsk is a medium-tonnage LNG production project of Novatek and Gazprombank , focused on supplying small and medium-sized LNG batches by gas carrier vessels and tank trucks. The terminal includes a loading berth capable of receiving tankers with a cargo capacity of up to 30,000 cubic meters and a tank truck filling station.
