Kazakhstan boosts honey exports 2.5-fold to 1,500 tonnes in 2025
ASTANA. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan exported 1,477 tonnes of honey in 2025, up 2.5-fold from 603 tonnes in 2024, the Agriculture Ministry's press service said.
The main destination for Kazakh honey was Uzbekistan, which accounted for 1,264 tonnes, or 85.6% of total exports.
Kazakh honey was also shipped to Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the United States. Exports to Oman were made for the first time.
Honey imports fell 84.1% in 2025 to 262.4 tonnes, from 1,663 tonnes in 2024.
Kazakhstan has around 241,000 bee colonies in the East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Almaty, Turkestan, Abai and Zhetysu regions, including 90,200 breeding colonies.
Annual honey production in the country totals about 5,000 tonnes, including 2,300 tonnes produced by household farms and 2,700 tonnes by agricultural producers.
