UNDP disburses over $230 mln to buy power equipment for Ukraine

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has approved an urgent purchase of additional power equipment for Ukraine worth over $230 million, Ukrainian media said, citing the Ukrainian mission to the United Nations.

Additional equipment includes the supply and installation of gas turbine cogeneration units, transformers, compressor stations, modular boiler houses and other critical hardware, the report said.

The installation of a 54MW gas-turbine unit at the Kremenchug Heat and Power Plant ($24 million), 25MW cogeneration units for Kiev ($20 million) and 40MW cogeneration units for Odessa ($20 million) are listed among major projects.
