Foreign investment in Belarusian economy grows 10% in 2025
MINSK. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Foreign investment in the Belarusian economy, expect from banks, increased 10.1% year-on-year to $7.6 billion in 2025 from $6.9 billion in 2024, the National Statistical Committee, Belstat, said.
The inflow of foreign direct investment rose 3.8% year-on-year to $5.4 billion in 2025, while the share in the total volume of foreign investment totaled 71% versus 74.8% in 2024.
Belarusian companies boosted investments abroad 22.4% year-on-year to $6 billion last year, with direct investment accounting for 70.5% of all foreign investment versus 80.8% the previous year.
Belstat has not provided a breakdown of the source countries of foreign investment nor the destination countries of Belarusian investment since the 2024 reporting period.
Foreigners invested $6.9 billion in the Belarusian economy in 2024 versus $7.7 billion in 2023, $7 billion in 2022, $8.7 billion each in 2021 and 2020, and $10 billion in 2019.
