Turkey boosts oil imports 6% in 2025, supplies from Russia decrease 10%

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Turkey imported 31.94 million tonnes of oil in 2025 (equivalent to 640,000 barrels per day), up 6.4% compared to the previous year, according to documents from the country's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

The top five largest oil suppliers to Turkey remained unchanged over the year. Russia remains its main exporter to the country, supplying 15.23 million tonnes. This is just over 10% less than in 2024.

Other major exporters also increased their supply levels. Purchases from Iraq increased 6.7% to 5.05 million tonnes and purchases from Kazakhstan rose 27.9% to 3.77 million tonnes. Saudi Arabia increased oil exports to Turkey 40% to 2.24 million tonnes and Nigeria increased them almost 1.8-fold to 1.64 million tonnes.

Turkey's diesel fuel imports for 2025 remained at the level of the previous year and amounted to 13.66 million tonnes. Russia still holds the main place in its structure, having increased diesel fuel supplies to the country 2.3% last year to 11.59 million tonnes.

The second largest supplier of diesel fuel to Turkey was Egypt, which exported 748,000 tonnes (+57.3%) and the third was India with a result of 562,000 tonnes (-3.2%).
