Tajikistan's sugar imports fall 5% in 2025

DUSHANBE. Feb 11 (Interfax) - Tajikistan imported 191,000 tonnes of sugar in 2025, down 9,700 tonnes or 4.8% compared to the previous year, the Tajik Anti-Monopoly Service said.

The value of the imported product amounted to $117.5 million, with an average price of $615 per 1 tonne ($34 less than in 2024).

"The sugar import market is competitive, with 69 economic entities participating in the market (19 more than in 2024)," the service said.

The main countries supplying sugar to Tajikistan are Russia, Belarus and India.
