Russian GDP growth accelerates to 1.9% in Dec from 0.1% in Nov - Econ Ministry
MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Russian GDP growth accelerated to 1.9% year-on-year in December 2025 from 0.1% in November and 1.0% in October, the Economic Development Ministry estimated in a report on the current economic situation published on Friday.
The Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported earlier that Russia's GDP grew by 1.0% in 2025 after expanding by 4.9% in 2024.
The ministry estimated that GDP grew by 1.0% in the fourth quarter of 2025, 0.6% in the third quarter, 1.1% in the second and 1.4% in the first.
"In the estimate of the Economic Development Ministry of Russia, GDP growth amounted to 1.9% year-on-year in December 2025 after 0.1% year-on-year in November; seasonally adjusted growth was 1.8% month-on-month," the report said.
The ministry forecast last September that Russia's GDP will grow by 1.3% in 2026. The Central Bank expects economic growth in the range of 0.5%-1.5%.
Analysts polled by Interfax at the end of December forecast that GDP will expand by 1.2% in 2026.
