Putin, Lukashenko discuss by phone preparations for Union State's Supreme State Council meeting scheduled for end-Feb
MOSCOW/MINSK. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke by phone on Sunday, the Kremlin website said in a statement.
"The preparations for the upcoming Russia-Belarus Union State's Supreme State Council meeting at the end of February were discussed. A number of current issues on the international agenda were also touched upon," the statement said.
Lukashenko and Putin discussed the timeframe of the Supreme State Council meeting, "the agenda and other matters of preparation for the upcoming event, which will address key aspects of integration cooperation between Belarus and Russia," the First Man's Pool Telegram channel close to the Belarusian presidential press service said.
The two presidents also "discussed a number of current matters of Belarusian-Russian relations with an emphasis on the implementation of joint projects," the channel said. "The heads of state also addressed international issues, developments of the situation in the region," it said.
