Belorusneft launches oil production at 8 new wells in Jan

MINSK. Feb 4 (Interfax) - The Belorusneft state-owned production association launched oil production at eight new wells in January 2026, the company's press service said.

"The Belorusneft company's inventory has been replenished with new facilities. The drilling of eight wells was completed in January," the press service said.

Three wells were built at the Rechitskoye field, two at the Vishanskoye field and one each at the Yuzhno-Sosnovskoye, Zapadno-Gartsevskoye, and Ostashkovichskoye fields. All facilities are located in the Gomel region.

"In January, the team of the Derrick Installation Department handed over two assembled drilling rigs to specialists from the Svetlogorsk Drilling Operations Department. Four new sites for the construction of drilling rigs have also been prepared," the press service said.

It was reported that plans are in place to drill 100 new wells this year.

Previously, the general director of Belorusneft, Alexander Lyakhov, announced plans for oil production totaling 2.1 million tonnes in 2026. A total of 2.013 million tonnes were produced in 2025.

Belorusneft was established in 1966. The enterprise conducts prospecting, exploration and development of oil fields, well drilling, and production of oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus. It also operates in the oil sector of other countries.
